The Roger Utz Bread of Life Ministry
The Roger Utz Bread of Life Ministry serves the hungry in our midst by
picking up bread, pastries and other items from local grocery stores
every day of the week, and distributing the items to multiple Denton
locations including the Soup Kitchen, Asbury Methodist Food Bank,
Salvation Army, the Shepherd’s Hands, Friends of the Family, and
Denton Community Food Center. Volunteering as little as an hour a
month to this important ministry leads to great rewards for our
community. Get your family involved, teach your children the meaning
of service and share in the joy of giving back!
The Bread of Life ministry was started by a fellow Brother knight
Roger Utz and has grown to be a very vibrant and well orchestrated
team of volunteers who collect food every day to help those in need.
The Ralph Cerny council is supporting this great ministry by
conducting a benefit clay/skeet shoot. The most urgent need is the
expense of a new refrigeration unit to support the large amount of
food items being collected daily. We are hoping to raise enough funds
to not only pay for the new refrigeration but have funds left over to
help with additional needs that the ministry may have.
So by now you are like OK Tim, how can we help! I am so glad you
asked. Attached you will find a flyer for the clay shoot coming up on
May 14th. We are looking for Volunteers, Shooters, shooters teams,
Station sponsors, auction items and monetary donations. We will also
have a wonderful lunch prepared by the knights. I need you to sign up
and I need you to spread the word! You can print the flyers of course
and share, or you can share the link we created or the QR code which
will direct you straight to our registration website. If you do not
want to register online please reach out to me direct and I will get
you taken care of.
