NEW LONG RANGE QUALIFICATION
Saturday, December 4th 1-4pm Fossil Pointe Sporting Grounds
Fossil Pointe requires that anyone wishing to shoot Long Range must attend the Long Range Qualification Course.
This course will give each participant an orientation to the range rules, range limitations, as well as a general understanding of ballistics. This is not an instructional course, rather an opportunity for you to demonstrate that you have the knowledge and skills required to shoot beyond 200yds. If you are in need of instruction please call the office to schedule a lesson with one of our rifle instructors. This course will be mandatory to become qualified to use the Fossil Pointe Long Range.
While this course is required, it will not guarantee qualification.
Shooters will be expected to demonstrate safe firearm handling, as well as the skills necessary to shoot beyond 300yds. Anyone previously qualified will be grandfather as a qualified shooter; however, previously qualified shooters are encouraged to attend this course.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: Centerfire Rifle, Optics with adjustable and marked turrets (no less than 10x), at least 20rds of non-FMJ ammo, bipod or sandbags for rest.
*RIFLES MUST BE SIGHTED IN AND ZEROED BEFORE THIS COURSE*, THERE WILL NOT BE ENOUGH TIME TO MOUNT SCOPES AND TROUBLESHOOT ZEROING PROBLEMS.
Recommended Additional Equipment: Shooting mat, Rear sand bag or rest, more ammo to enjoy the range once you’re qualified.
